WHAT YOU CAN DO

For Burma activism in general:

- Read Burmanet (www.burmanet.org)
- Get involved with the Free Burma Coalition and other groups (www.freeburmacoalition.org)
- Pressure your governmental representatives to take concrete steps to defeat the Burmese dictatorship, and the Chinese dictatorship

For the Karen:

- For child soldiers, contact Dictator Watch
- For refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs), contact the KNU (www.tawmeipa.org)
- For the KNLA, contact the KNU or Dictator Watch

Note: while modern armies, which never or only rarely fight, have funding in the billions of dollars, the KNLA, which must fight every day, has virtually none. Indeed, they are regularly short of food and medical supplies. Donations to them can be directed such that the monies are applied to humanitarian assistance only.
