So, why is the degenerate and demented orange Nazi, who is also a convicted felon and rapist, doing so well in the polls?

1. The media. They have given him billions of dollars of free coverage. His disgusting image is everywhere. It is unavoidable. And it's true, there is no such thing as bad publicity. Seeing a thousand pictures of him smiling makes it much more likely that the few Republicans who would abandon him because he is a villain will instead just shrug.

2. The billionaires. Ordinary people don't contribute to his campaign but the billionaires have donated heavily. Without this there would be almost no Trump ads. This could prove crucial not just for the presidential election but for the Senate and House races as well. Capitalists like dictators! In autocracies like China they can exploit workers and the environment with no consequences. Trump will be America's first dictator, and he also promises them almost no taxes!

And, of course, one Trump is gone - he's finding it harder and harder to maintain cogent thought, that's how fast Alzheimer's progresses - they will get Vance. (This is the number one question the media should ask: Is Donald Trump taking Alzheimer's medication?)

3. Tribalism. Republicans would see America perish rather than oppose their tribe.

4. Racists - the country is full of them. (See also tribalism - this holds for all the other reasons as well.)

5. People who hate women.

6. People who hate gays.

7. Christians who have lost their minds and no longer follow Jesus. (Judging from what is happening this seems to be the majority.)

8. All the idiot young men whose prefrontal cortex is not yet developed and who habitually succumb to peer pressure, many of whom also hate women (because they can't get a girlfriend and they refuse to accept that it is their fault and that they have to change - to be nice and to listen).

9. And lastly, people who root for underdogs. It's essential to remember that the U.S. is sports mad and that while we revere the stars there's nothing we like more than for a no-hoper to win. You might be confused and think Trump is the favorite since he has already been President, and because so many people are bigots, but remember the debate. Kamala cleaned his clock. That instantly made him the underdog. This brings us full circle. It was because of the debate result that in a coordinated (but unconscious) reflex, fearing a blowout, the media immediately began manipulating their coverage to be pro-Trump. One side is honest, the other is criminal, but Media Ethics Demand that both be given support - a fair shake! It's the lamest excuse ever for promoting a Nazi and one wonders what the journalists will think when their handcuffs are being locked.
