This is a Tharu fisherman in his dugout canoe. The Tharu are the indigenous people of Nepal.
We were out on a jungle trek, in a riverine habitat with numerous islands, and signaled him over.
He gave us a ride to a nearby island.

This is a gaur, also a highly-endangered species.
